Why Edgewood Patients Choose Elite

Four reasons the drive is worth ten minutes.

Edgewood residents have oral surgery options in Puyallup and Tacoma; this is not a competence claim. The differences at Elite are structural: practice model, pricing transparency, operational focus, and scope. Those differences change what treatment looks like, particularly for full-arch implant patients comparing several practices.

01
Pricing

Published, all-inclusive full-arch pricing

One flat price per arch, surgery, IV sedation, same-day printed PMMA provisional, the prototype try-in, and the final zirconia bridge included. Posted publicly, with no upcharges for materials some programs treat as premium upgrades. Most full-arch programs in the region do not publish pricing at all, and quotes generally follow a consultation.

02
Continuity

The surgeon at consultation is the surgeon at every visit

Most nearby OMS practices are multi-surgeon groups where consultation, surgery, and follow-up may involve different providers. Elite is single-doctor: Dr. Volland performs your consultation, surgery, every try-in, delivery, and follow-up. Across 12 weeks of full-arch treatment, that continuity has real clinical and emotional value.

03
Scope

Including remote anchorage and the full OMS scope

Patients with severe upper-jaw bone loss told they need extensive grafting, or that they aren't candidates at all, are often candidates with remote anchorage protocols. Zygomatic implants anchor in the cheekbone rather than the resorbed jaw, and they aren't standard at most practices near Edgewood. They are standard here, alongside the full traditional OMS scope.

04
In-House Lab

Same-day provisional teeth with on-site milling

Surgery day includes a printed PMMA provisional bridge designed and produced in our in-house lab. You leave with teeth that look natural and let you eat soft foods that night. The in-house workflow means tighter quality control and faster turnaround on adjustments.

Flagship, Full-Arch Implants

A complete set of teeth, planned around your anatomy.

Full-arch reconstruction replaces a full row of failing or missing teeth with a fixed, implant-supported bridge. Every implant is mapped from 3D imaging before the day of surgery.

All-on-4 Dental Implants
Most-studied protocol

Four implants per arch supporting a complete fixed bridge, 25+ years of outcome data showing 95%+ implant survival at 10 years. For most patients with adequate bone, All-on-4 is the appropriate starting recommendation, with alternatives evaluated from 3D imaging at consultation.

All-on-6 Dental Implants
Same $15,000 price

Six implants per arch instead of four, selected for strong bite forces, a history of bruxism, or specific clinical situations where additional support is biomechanically warranted. At Elite it is priced identically to All-on-4, so the recommendation is purely clinical. Many programs charge a premium for the additional implants; that markup does not exist here.

Learn more
Zygomatic Implants
For severe bone loss

For severe upper-jaw bone loss, typically after years of denture wear, longer implants are anchored in the cheekbone rather than the resorbed upper jaw, eliminating the 6–9 month sinus-lift and grafting timeline. Zygomatic protocols require specific surgical training and are not standard at most regional OMS practices, making Elite a meaningful second-opinion option for Edgewood patients who have been told they are not candidates.

Full Mouth Dental Implants
Same procedure, broader term

The term many patients use when first researching. It overlaps with All-on-4, All-on-X, and full-arch implants, the underlying procedure is the same, described with different vocabulary. The clinical evaluation and treatment recommendation are identical regardless of which term you used to find the practice, and it’s the same $15,000 per arch.

Single Dental Implants
For individual missing teeth

The modern alternative to bridges and removable partials, without compromising adjacent healthy teeth or the retention issues of partials. For patients referred by an Edgewood-area general dentist, Elite handles the surgical placement; the restoration crown is typically completed by your referring dentist over the following weeks.

Learn more
Surgical Extractions
Beyond a GP's scope

Broken teeth at the gumline, fractured or ankylosed roots, dilacerated roots, teeth close to the inferior alveolar nerve, and anxious patients requiring sedation, the cases general dentists refer out. Handled in a controlled surgical environment with proper instrumentation and IV sedation available.

Learn more
Bone Grafting & Sinus Lift
Foundation procedures

The foundation procedures that make implants possible after bone loss. Socket preservation right after an extraction protects bone volume for a future implant; a sinus lift rebuilds height in the upper-back jaw where the sinus has expanded. Both are commonly done as part of a broader plan, with pricing and healing timelines given to you in writing at consultation.

Edgewood Patient Questions

Questions patients actually ask.

The practical questions Edgewood residents ask before scheduling a first consultation.

Why would I drive to Bonney Lake when there are oral surgeons closer to Edgewood?

For many routine procedures, you might not. Puyallup and Tacoma have capable OMS practices that serve the area well. The patients who make the ten-minute drive to Elite are typically full-arch implant patients who want published pricing, patients who prioritize seeing the same surgeon at every visit, or patients seeking remote anchorage protocols such as zygomatic implants that not every practice offers. For full-arch implants evaluated on transparency, structure, and scope, that is where the differences matter most.

How much do full-arch dental implants cost at Elite?

Full-arch dental implants are $15,000 per arch, all-inclusive. That covers surgery, IV sedation, the same-day PMMA provisional, the prototype try-in, the final zirconia bridge, and follow-up visits at 3, 6, and 12 months. All-on-4 and All-on-6 are priced identically, so the recommendation is based purely on your anatomy rather than on cost. Most full-arch programs in the region do not publish pricing publicly, and quotes typically follow a consultation. For wisdom teeth, single implants, and extractions, our pricing is broadly in line with the area.

Will I see Dr. Volland personally at every visit?

Yes, at every visit. There is one surgeon at Elite, and that surgeon performs your consultation, surgery, every prototype try-in, the final delivery, and every follow-up. No partner and no rotating provider. For complex full-arch cases especially, that continuity has clinical value, since the surgeon who placed your implants is the one evaluating your healing.

Can my Edgewood general dentist refer me to Elite?

Yes. We accept referrals from any general dentist regardless of location. Your dentist sends a referral with imaging and clinical notes, and our office contacts you to schedule. For full-arch consultations, no referral is required and the consultation is complimentary. For wisdom teeth, single implants, and extractions, a referral is requested.

How does insurance work for full-arch implants?

We work with most major dental carriers and verify your benefits in writing before treatment begins. For full-arch cases, dental insurance typically provides limited coverage, since most plans cap major procedures well below the cost of treatment. Medical insurance may cover meaningful portions when the case qualifies as medically necessary, and our office handles verification across both. HSA and FSA funds apply to every procedure, and five financing partners can spread payment across months.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

For true emergencies such as significant facial trauma, severe acute infection, uncontrolled bleeding, or difficulty breathing or swallowing, the nearest emergency department is the right resource. For urgent but non-emergency situations, our office line provides same-day or next-day guidance, and we make every effort to evaluate established patients who develop post-operative concerns.

How long is the drive from Edgewood to Elite Oral Surgery?

The practice is at 9907 205th Ave E in Bonney Lake, roughly 7 miles and 10 to 14 minutes from most Edgewood neighborhoods. The most direct route is WA-167 South to WA-410 East. From north Edgewood near Milton, Meridian Avenue South to WA-410 East takes 12 to 16 minutes. Free on-site parking is available.

Can I drive myself home to Edgewood after surgery?

Not if you receive IV sedation. You will need a sober adult driver to bring you home, regardless of how short the drive is. This applies even to the ten-minute trip back to Edgewood. For procedures done with local anesthetic only, most patients can drive themselves.
