From Bonney Lake to Bonney Lake.
Dr. Volland was born and raised in the South Sound. His path took him across the country and back. He attended dental school in San Francisco, served eight years in the U.S. Navy, and performed surgery aboard an aircraft carrier before returning home to build a practice in the community where he grew up.
He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in three years rather than four, graduating 7th in a class of 141. His education was funded by the U.S. Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program.
After a four-year OMS residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, he served as embarked surgeon aboard the USS Nimitz, then held three concurrent attending positions across the Pacific Northwest before founding Elite Oral Surgery.
