Why Bellevue Patients Choose Elite

Four reasons the drive south is worth considering.

Bellevue has some of the most accomplished dental and surgical practices in the state, and no one should drive 40 minutes for ordinary care. The Bellevue patients who come to Elite are almost always weighing a full-arch case, where the Eastside cost structure, the multi-provider model, and the way zirconia and All-on-6 get positioned as premium tiers add up to a genuinely different proposition than an independent single-doctor practice with a published price.

01
Pricing

Published, all-inclusive full-arch pricing

One flat price per arch: surgery, IV sedation, the same-day PMMA provisional, the prototype try-in, and the final zirconia bridge, posted publicly. Eastside and Seattle practices seldom publish full-arch pricing, and patient-reported quotes commonly run $30,000 to $60,000 per arch. For a two-arch case, the gap frequently exceeds $40,000.

02
Continuity

The surgeon at consultation is the surgeon at every visit

Premium Eastside implant care is usually delivered by a team: an oral surgeon places, a prosthodontist restores, and follow-up is handled by whoever is on the schedule. That model works, but it is not the only one. Elite is single-doctor, so Dr. Volland performs the consultation, the surgery, every try-in, the delivery, and every follow-up himself.

03
Ownership

Independently owned, not corporately managed

Much of the implant marketing a Bellevue patient encounters comes from chain centers and DSO-managed groups with corporate or private-equity ownership above the clinical leadership. Elite is owned outright by Dr. Volland. There are no production targets set elsewhere and no parent company with an interest in what gets recommended.

04
Scope

Including remote anchorage and complex cases

Zygomatic implants and the PATZI sequence make many patients candidates who have been told they need a year of grafting or that fixed teeth are not possible for them. These protocols require specific training and are not standard offerings across the Eastside. Second opinions on candidacy are one of the most common reasons Bellevue patients make this drive.

The Side-by-Side

If you are comparing Eastside implant practices

A factual comparison between the premium Eastside model, whether chain-owned or a multi-specialist private group, and Elite. Both describe board-certified care; the differences are structural and financial, not clinical.

The Corporate Model

Chain & Multi-Specialist Practices

Ownership

A mix of corporate networks, DSO-managed groups, and multi-partner private practices carrying Eastside overhead.

Who performs surgery

Typically a team: surgeon places, prosthodontist restores, follow-up varies by visit.

Full-arch pricing

Rarely published. Patient-reported quotes across the Eastside and Seattle commonly $30K to $60K per arch.

Final restoration

Zirconia frequently priced as a premium tier above an acrylic-on-titanium baseline.

All-on-6

Commonly $4K to $8K above All-on-4 and framed as an upgrade.

Independent Practice

Elite Oral Surgery

Ownership

Independently owned by Dr. Volland, in a market where commercial overhead is a fraction of Bellevue’s.

Who performs surgery

One surgeon, from consultation through the final delivery and every follow-up.

Full-arch pricing

$15,000 per arch, all-inclusive and published before you call.

Final restoration

Final zirconia bridge included as standard, not an upgrade.

All-on-6

Priced identically to All-on-4, so the recommendation is purely clinical.

Flagship, Full-Arch Implants

A complete set of teeth, planned around your anatomy.

Full-arch reconstruction replaces a full row of failing or missing teeth with a fixed, implant-supported bridge. Every implant is mapped from 3D imaging before the day of surgery.

All-on-4 Dental Implants
Most-studied protocol

Four implants per arch supporting a complete fixed bridge, with 25+ years of outcome data and 95%+ implant survival at 10 years. The same implant systems and the same lab-fabricated zirconia used at premium Eastside practices; the difference is the overhead structure behind the price, not the components.

All-on-6 Dental Implants
Same $15,000 price

Six implants per arch when biomechanics warrant it: strong bite forces, bruxism, or a larger jaw structure. Priced identically to All-on-4 here. When six implants cost the same as four, the recommendation reflects your anatomy rather than a tier you were guided toward.

Zygomatic Implants
For severe bone loss

For severe upper-jaw bone loss, longer implants anchored in the zygomatic bone bypass the resorbed maxilla and eliminate the 6 to 9 month grafting sequence. Patients told on the Eastside that they need extensive grafting first, or that fixed teeth are not realistic for them, are frequently candidates under a remote anchorage protocol.

Full Mouth Dental Implants
Same procedure, broader term

The umbrella term most patients research first. It overlaps completely with All-on-4, All-on-X, and full-arch implants, and the clinical evaluation, the recommendation, and the price are the same regardless of terminology.

Teeth in a Day
What the marketing means

"Permanent teeth in 24 hours" is misleading in an important way: patients do leave with teeth, but osseointegration takes 4 to 6 months regardless of what is delivered on day one, so a day-one bridge is a transitional restoration. The honest workflow here is a same-day PMMA provisional, refinement at week 8, and the final zirconia at week 10 to 12.

Surgical Extractions
Beyond a general dentist's scope

Teeth broken at the gumline, fractured or ankylosed roots, teeth close to the inferior alveolar nerve, and anxious patients who need sedation. Handled in a controlled surgical environment with IV sedation available, though most Bellevue patients will reasonably have this done closer to home.

Learn more
Bone Grafting & Sinus Lift
Foundation procedures

Socket preservation after an extraction protects bone volume for a future implant; a sinus lift rebuilds height in the upper-back jaw where the sinus has pneumatized. Priced separately and in writing before any surgical date, and frequently avoidable altogether when remote anchorage is an option.

Consultation & 3D imaging

Meet Dr. Volland, get a CBCT scan, and leave with a written treatment plan and itemized pricing. Worth scheduling mid-morning: I-405 and WA-167 are both far easier between the commutes.

Complimentary for full-arch cases. About 60 minutes. Bring recent imaging or an Eastside treatment plan and we will review it with you line by line.

Surgery day

Placement & same-day teeth

Implants are placed under in-house IV sedation and you go home the same day with a fixed provisional bridge. Some Bellevue patients book a hotel nearby for the first night rather than drive home sedated and sore; either approach is fine and we will help you plan it.

A sober adult driver is required. Soft diet for 6 to 8 weeks; most patients return to non-strenuous work in 3 to 5 days.

Week 08 · Try-In

Prototype try-in

A try-in to refine bite, esthetics, and speech before the final bridge is milled. Non-surgical and about 90 minutes, so it pairs well with anything else you have in the South Sound that day.

Non-surgical appointment. Bring a second opinion if you would like one.

Week 10–12

Final zirconia bridge

Your final zirconia bridge is delivered once osseointegration is confirmed: the finished result, on a predictable timeline, at the published price quoted at your first visit.

Full diet typically resumes within 1 to 2 weeks. Follow-ups at 3, 6, and 12 months are included, and three trips a year is the long-term commitment.

Four or five appointments total, then follow-ups at 3, 6, and 12 months, all included in the all-inclusive price. That appointment count is the honest way to evaluate the drive: this is not a weekly commitment.
Getting Here

I-405 south, then the Valley Freeway.

This is a 35-mile drive and it deserves a straight answer: 40 to 50 minutes off-peak, and materially longer in rush hour. I-405 south to WA-167 south to WA-410 east is the route nearly everyone uses. Mid-morning and early-afternoon appointments avoid both commutes, and the office schedules Bellevue patients accordingly whenever possible.

Route 01 · Most Direct
40–50 min

I-405 S → WA-167 S → WA-410 E

From downtown Bellevue, Factoria, or Somerset, I-405 South to Renton, then WA-167 South past Kent and Auburn, then WA-410 East. Almost entirely highway. Peak-hour southbound traffic can push this to 60 to 75 minutes, which is the single best argument for a mid-day appointment.

Route 02 · Via I-90 & WA-18
45–55 min

I-90 E → WA-18 W → WA-164 → WA-410

From Eastgate, Issaquah, and the east Bellevue side, I-90 East to WA-18 West through Covington and Auburn, then across to WA-410. Often the better route when I-405 is congested, and a more forgiving drive on the way home.

Surgery days under IV sedation: you will need a sober adult driver to bring you home, required for IV sedation. Given the distance, some Bellevue patients arrange a driver for the day or stay locally the first night; we will help you plan whichever is easier.

Bellevue Patient Questions

Questions patients actually ask.

The practical questions Bellevue residents ask before scheduling a first consultation.

Is a 40-minute drive from Bellevue actually worth it?

For wisdom teeth or a single extraction, no. For a full-arch case, the numbers change: $15,000 per arch published here against patient-reported Eastside quotes of $30,000 to $60,000. Treatment is four or five appointments across twelve weeks plus three follow-ups, roughly eight trips in a year.

How can the price be half the Eastside range without cutting something?

The clinical inputs are identical: titanium implants from major manufacturers, zirconia from established labs, and permit-authorized IV sedation. The difference is overhead. Bonney Lake commercial space costs a fraction of Bellevue, a single-doctor practice carries less administrative load, and there is no DSO or corporate parent taking a margin.

Will I see Dr. Volland personally, or a team?

Dr. Volland personally, at every visit. He performs your consultation, surgery, every prototype try-in, the final delivery, and each follow-up. Premium Eastside implant care is typically delivered by a surgeon and prosthodontist working in sequence. This is the alternative model, and for many patients continuity decides it rather than price.

Can I do the first consultation remotely?

Partly. A phone or video call can cover candidacy in general terms, what treatment involves, and how pricing works. A definitive plan requires 3D Cone Beam CT imaging, so one in-person visit is necessary. If you have recent 3D imaging or a written Eastside plan, send it for preliminary guidance first.

Where do Bellevue patients stay on surgery day?

Most drive home the same day with a designated driver. Some book a hotel in Bonney Lake, Sumner, or Puyallup for the first night to avoid 40 minutes in the car while sedation wears off. Neither affects the outcome, and the office helps plan the logistics when surgery is scheduled.

What if I have a problem after surgery and I am 40 minutes away?

True emergencies, meaning significant bleeding, signs of severe infection, or an allergic reaction, warrant immediate emergency department evaluation regardless of where surgery was performed. Bellevue is served by Overlake. For urgent non-emergency issues, our office line provides same-day guidance, usually with photos, and most post-operative concerns are resolved by phone.
